Former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley defeated Karl Knothe via submission in a first-round bout in the main event of the Shark Fights 21 MMA promotion in Lubbock, Texas last night to win the Shark Fights Heavyweight Championship. This was Lashley’s first fight since March. The card will be broadcasted next month on FUEL TV.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that former WWE CEO Linda McMahon’s U.S. Senate campaign in Connecticut has spent $1.2 million so far, with only $1,400 coming from contributions from her supporters. In her 2010 bid to win the other senate seat in 2010 currently held by the man she lost to, Richard Blumenthal, she had spent over $40 million. McMahon is vying for the senate seat long held by Independent Joe Lieberman, who is retiring in 2012.
