In his first interview since losing the UFC Heavyweight Championship to Cain Velasquez last October at UFC pay-per-view, Brock Lesnar dispelled the long-standing rumor that he had been interested in participating in this year’s WrestleMania event.
“That thing just took on a life of its own,” Lesnar told Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports. “I’m a fighter. There wasn’t anything there. I never pursued anything, no.” Lesnar added that he doesn’t spend much time online and wasn’t initially aware of the abundant rumors.
While Iole made note of his encounter with WWE Superstar The Undertaker at UFC 121 in the article, Lesnar apparently didn’t comment on the matter during the interview. As noted previously here on WrestleHeat.com, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that UFC President Dana White and WWE CEO Vince McMahon had a meeting regarding Brock Lesnar appearing at WrestleMania, to which White rejected, obviously.
