CM Punk, who is still in Australia on tour with WWE, has taken to Twitter to address the remarks he made to a fan at a live event last night to a fan. Punk was caught on camera telling a fan that he was a “homo,” just months after Michael Cole came under fire for telling Josh Matthews on Twitter that he is a “f—-t”. On his Twitter account, Punk expressed that he is “embarrassed” of what he said.
“…I’m embarrassed. I own up to being a total douche in this situation and I offer a sincere apology to anybody I hurt with careless words,” Punk stated to his followers Monday evening. TMZ, who also covered the story, reached out to WWE to get their comments on the remarks made by Punk, and they said, “WWE does not condone this type of language or bias and we reinforce that with our talent who are independent contractors.”
