The website of the North Carolina courts shows that Matt Hardy is scheduled to appear in court on September 28th due to the charges over the weekend. He is charge with Driving While Impaired and an infraction of Exceeding Safe Speed. He is also set to appear in court on October 11 for a single traffic charge of Reckless Driving with disregard of the safety of others.
The Fayetteville Observer also notes that Hardy didn’t appear drunk when a police officer approached him, but “appeared to have taken some type of impairing substance” before he got into the car wreck. The officer noted that Hardy was driving “more than 55mph but less than 70mph” when his Corvette hit a tree. He was also given a blood test, as noted before, shortly afterward. The substance itself that Hardy allegedly used has not been revealed as of yet.
