Interesting Stat For WWE Title Match At Hell In A Cell

I would just like to pass along that its the 1st time in WWE History that a WWE Championship has ever been fought in a Triple Threat match at Hell in a Cell. WWE champion John Cena will defend his WWE Championship against Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk. This is the 1st time in WWE History that a Triple Threat match has ever happened at Hell in a Cell.

The last time over 2 wrestlers ever fought inside of a Hell in a Cell Match was back on December 10, 2000 in Birmingham Alabama when Kurt Angle beat defeated Undertaker, Triple H, Steve Austin, Rikishi and The Rock this was for the WWF Championship This also happened at Armageddon. Just thought this was some interesting news and thought I would pass it along.

(Thanks to WrestleHeat.com contributor Brian S. for sending that along. Got a news tip? Send it in to Webmaster@WrestleHeat.com).

UPDATE: As noted in the comments below, the last paragraph was not entirely correct. Since the Armageddon 2000 six-man Hell in a Cell match, two matches have featured more than two people — 2006’s 2-on-3 handicap match at Unforgiven featuring D-X vs Shane McMahon, Vince McMahon & Big Show, and 2009’s D-X vs Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase at Hell in a Cell.
