John Cena Pulled From Weekend Live Events, New WWE Executive

— WWE has announced that Michael Luisi has been named the company’s new Executive Vice President of Business Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary, effective January 10, 2011. Luisi, a former Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations at Mirimax films, will report to WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon. In his new role, Luisi will be “a key member of WWE’s senior management team and responsible for business and legal affairs” for the company.

In a statement posted on WWE’s corporate website, Vince McMahon said, “Michael has had a very accomplished career in the entertainment industry. He brings with him a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts within the entertainment industry which will benefit WWE and serve him well in his new position.”

— Tickets for the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will go on sale on Saturday 1/15 at the Philips Arena. Tickets will go for $75, $60 and $50.

— John Cena has been pulled from this weekend’s WWE live events due to his hip injury. The new main events for these shows are now advertised as WWE Champion The Miz defending against Randy Orton.
