Mick Foley Not Who TNA Wanted The ‘Network’ To Be, Scott Steiner Update

To update the TNA Wrestling status of Scott Steiner, “Big Poppa Pump” made an appearance at last night’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida, to air next Thursday night on Spike TV. Therefore, since he worked a taping, it appears that the financial issues he had with the company have been resolved. Steiner previously was pegged to wrestle Matt Morgan at this past Sunday’s Sacrifice event, but plans fell through when Steiner and TNA had a dispute over his pay.

Despite Mick Foley being revealed as the person behind “the network” at this past Thursday’s Impact Wrestling telecast on Spike TV, the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that he was not originally pegged to be behind the role. A source notes that TNA reached out to a former ’90s star to take on the role, but plans fell through. It is not exactly known who they wanted to portray the character, however, the Observer rules out Bill Goldberg.
