Next WWE HOF Name Spoiled, Disappointing Numbers For ‘The Chaperone’

WWE Studios’ “The Chaperone” starring Triple H ended up grossing $12,700 during its first and only weekend of release, granted it only played in a dozen markets or so. It ended up grossing more than “Knucklehead” did. As noted earlier, all future WWE Studios film releases are designed to make money off DVD sales, but are given a theatrical release so it doesn’t appear as a straight-to-DVD release. One interesting note is that “Legendary” starring John Cena ended up grossing $129,964 in its first weekend and $200,000 total at the box office, was in more markets and has lost money with the DVD release so far. Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is slated to be announced as the next inductee into the Class of 2011 WWE Hall of Fame tomorrow night during Monday Night Raw, reports Sytch had been among many names rumored for the Hall of Fame this year.
