At tonight’s TNA Wrestling Impact tapings from Orlando, Florida, Robert Roode was able to defeat Samoa Joe cleanly in the main event number one contender’s match to be able to go on and face his tag team partner James Storm in a future match for the World Championship.
As noted previously, Gail Kim competed in her first match in TNA since she left a few years back and was able to defeat Tara. Before the match, Kim defended returning to TNA as a heel, mentioning that she gave Velvet Sky a “concussion” at last night’s tapings. When she talked about why she returned to the company at the side of Karen Jarrett, she said it was “none of your business” and played the typical heel, saying that the fans don’t put money in her pocket.
The other big angle was an Eric Bischoff feud with his real-life son Garrett. Two segments were taped on the broadcast, including Bischoff coming out to the ring in the first hour, asking his son to apologize to him for his actions last night later in the show. Later in the broadcast, the last thing they taped was Garrett coming out to the ring and refusing to apologize. This resulted in Bischoff and Ric Flair to beat down him to close the show. There’s no word if that is what segment will close the actual broadcast next week, but that’s what they taped last.
