Sting Makes TNA Wrestling Return On 3/3/11, Captures World Title

Tonight during the TNA Wrestling iMPACT! broadcast, which was taped last Thursday (February 24th), fans saw the company return of Steve “Sting” Borden, who has not been with the company for several months. In fact, for a few months, he was a free agent and the 2/21/11 vignettes that TNA’s competitor, WWE, aired hinting that the Undertaker was going to return made many within the industry think that Sting was going to sign for WWE for the first time in his career.

In the end, however, he did not, and he re-signed a reported one-year contract with TNA Wrestling. Tonight, the company decided to put him in a World Championship match against Jeff Hardy in the main event of the show, which took place outside of Orlando, Florida only for the second time in the history of TNA’s long-running television series. The last moments of the broadcast saw Sting celebrating with the TNA World Championship. Sting had previously won the championship belt two times in the past.

They didn’t exactly have a stellar match……….That being said, it was a fun few minute finale for TNA which I for one am not used to getting. The future of the title will become known to me when I see what TNA does with that atrocious Title belt of theirs. If it stays all purple and gay, Hardy will get it back very soon. If they change it, Sting will stay Champ for awhile and possibly give some boost to the company. It seems like a no-brainer. Sting over Hardy. I don’t expect Bischoff to see it that way, he never give fans what they want.
