Last night’s episode of TNA Wrestling iMPACT! on Spike TV was a mixed bag for the company; on one hand, the scored its best rating overall since October 2010. However, the show continued its trend of continually losing audience throughout its broadcast. Last night was no different. The show scored an overall rating of 1.25 with an audience of 1.71 million viewers, the highest number for the show since the aftermath of the Bound For Glory PPV.
Viewers likely tuned in for the aftermath of the Genesis PPV, which saw Mr. Anderson win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a surprise main event. Also, the curiosity factor of Matt Hardy debuting with the company also may have played a factor.
The not so good news for TNA is that the show started its broadcast with a 1.41 quarter hour, but by the end of its broadcast, it had a 1.16, a loss of 18% of its audience. However, of note was that the second to last quarter only had a 1.07 rating, and viewers decided to come back for the last quarter hour which featured the return of the Hardy Boys (Matt and Jeff Hardy) against TNA Champion Mr. Anderson and Rob Van Dam in the main event.
