Last night’s edition of TNA Impact Wrestling, which is what the company is now branding itself as, did strong numbers for promoting a “night of reveals,” which included the revelation that Joanie “Chyna” Laurer was going to tag team with Kurt Angle this Sunday at Sacrifice against Jeff and Karen Jarrett, and the reveal that Mick Foley was the person behind “The Network”. The show drew a 1.27 cable rating on Spike TV with an overall audience of 1.81 million viewers.
The household rating was up 9% from last week’s 1.15 cable rating and up 13% in total viewership, up from last week’s 1.57 million viewers. This is also positive news for the company as they received a strong viewership for the initial re-branding of the company where they are going by the tagline that “wrestling matters here”. The company continues to emphasize the word “wrestling”, obviously taking a jab at their competition, WWE, who has recently tried to distance itself from the word.
