Last night’s broadcast of TNA Wrestling iMPACT! posted a 1.28 cable rating on 1/27, with 1.93 million viewers – the third largest average audience in history. Impact did a 1.2 rating in the M18-49 demographic and a 1.0 rating among M18-34. The only two other times that they did better was the special Monday airing on January 4, 2010 featuring the debuts of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, and the iMPACT! coming off of the Bound for Glory pay-per-view in October — which had the fall-out of the anticipated “they” debut.
Among Basic Cable Networks between 9p-11p, TNA ranked #4 among M18-49, behind with MTV (Jersey Shore), TNT (NBA) and AE (First 48, Beyond Scared Straight). Among quarter hours, the show scored a 1.41, 1.42, 1.29, 1.23, 1.23, 1.15, 1.19 and a 1.33.
For the past three weeks, the company has been heavily promoting next week’s broadcast (February 3rd), which also features the debut of “they”, and other matches that have been confirmed by the TNA. It should be interested to see if the ratings continue to grow in the coming weeks during the month of February, as that is February sweeps in terms of Television, and Spike TV has been pressing the company to make television “special” during the month so they can compete with the other cable networks.
