WWE Bring Back Diva Search, New PPV ‘Standard’, More Evening News

– Diamond Dallas Page noted on Twitter today that he will be heading to England in May and promised to release more details later.

– This morning, World Wrestling Entertainment announced that the Diva Search, running as a 10 week competition, will be returning. They announced it at a webinar, which was held to attract potential promotional partners. WWE touted the Diva Search as their version of American Idol… except American Idol is actually entertaining

– As noted before, actor Dustin “Screech” Diamond will be wrestling for the AAW promotion on February 11th in Merrionette Park, Illinois. Screech will be competing in a Man vs. Woman match against MsChif, after the SHIMMER star accepted his challenge.

– WWE’s Senior Vice President of Partner Sales Joe DelGrosso said at the webinar that WWE would not be cutting back from 13 pay-per-view events a year and that is the “new standard.” He noted that this will be the “minimum” going forward, implying that more pay-per-view events may be added in the future.
