After not-so-good WWE PPV news in 2010 last year, two out of the three latest WWE PPVs that have had their PPV buys revealed are all mostly up. The not-so-good news for the company is that even though two out of the three are up, the bad numbers for Over the Limit broke even for the company.
Nonetheless, the Extreme Rules PPV after WrestleMania drew 209,000 buys, up 13% from the 182,000 buys in 2010. The only downside for the company were the relatively small numbers for the Over the Limit PPV, which only drew 140,000 buys, down 29% from the 197,000 buys last year. Capitol Punishment, though, was up 16% from last year’s Fatal 4 Way event, which drew 143,000 buys. The inital Capitol Punishment drew 170,000 buys.
WWE did a total of 1.598 million buys in 2011’s second quarter, most of which came from the 1.059 million buys from WrestleMania 27. Thanks to F4WOnline.com for the numbers.
