WWE Releases Four WWE Talents Today, One Quits

  • Share

WWE cleaned house this morning, announcing that four talents were fired from the company. They posted four separate “future endeavors” messages on WWE.com before they took to Facebook and Twitter and announced that all four had been fired.

Those fired from the company include Melina, who has been part of the company since April of 2005, Vladimir Kozlov, who was signed in January of 2006 as Prudius and officially made his RAW debut in December of 2006, and Chris Masters, who has been signed and fired by the WWE twice — his original stint lasted from 2005-2007 and then the latter from July 2009 – today. Finally, David Hart Smith was released, the least tenured of the other three, who made his debut as the “DH Smith” character in October of 2007.

And, as noted previously, Gail Kim took to Twitter today to announce that she, too, will be leaving WWE. Whether or not she was fired or not remains to be seen, but she is noting that she is the one that is “quitting” the company.

They should have let Cole, Otunga, Sin Cara, and Del Rio go!!!!

As much as I love Melina…. this was bound to happen.   You do not encourage behavior that isolates someone as “not being a team player”, especially if your own behavior has made you bad blood in the locker room.

I am also sorry to see Chris Masters go as well as Gail Kim, but with the situation as is, WWE did the wrong thing all around.

  5. NEEDS MORE CLEANING HOUSE AND ADD BETTER WRESTLERS LIKE STING AND OTHERS

oh well, they pretty much all sucked anyways!

I think the only reason why Gail Kim quit is because of the obvious! She, like the other Divas, weren’t used to be athletes! The WWE is using Divas like eye candy, and that’s why Kelly Kelly (Barbara Blank) is the Divas Champ! And I bet, more Divas are gonna get released until Kelly Kelly loses the Divas Title!

Hope Melina and Gail Kim both decide to make (Debut for Melina) (Return for Gail) in TNA as Knock Outs!  The way Melina has been treated on WWE TV Shows, especially 8/1’s RAW is a total lack of Respect for a very talented performer!  Hope Jillian Hall makes her Knock out debut soon too!

WWE made big mistakes when they let go of people like Dave batista, Melina, etc. Making Mark Henry a bad guy wasn’t a bad choice, but it is stupid to think that after 15 yrs, he can suddenly beat people like Kane & the Big Show. Also seems as if they are trying to turn Sheamus into a good guy. That entire story with Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler was also ridiculous, to the point where my 10 yr old didn’t even want to watch. Good time for McMahon to retire. Maybe HHH (Paul Levesque) will bring in some fresh blood, and use the talent already there. Mistake losing Chris Masters as well. And where is Andy Levine (Tough Enough winner)

At first I was like, “Why would they fire Melina?”
Then I remembered, “Oh yeah, she’s a female and she can wrestle”

    • Scott Land says:

So why not fire Kelly Kelly, Eve, Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox, & Tamina based on that criteria alone.  Melina is a decent wrestler (especially compared to the ladies I’ve just listed) with more personality than half the divas roster.

The real reason she was fired probably has more to do with her backstage conflict with WWE megadiva Trish Stratus from WM 27.

That was kind of the point I was making. WWE has a problem keeping the talented women on their roster. Most of the WWE women’s division have no reason being in a wrestling ring.

I would love to see Chris Masters picked up by TNA, the problem is I doubt they’d have anything for him creatively speaking. Maybe brought in with Dixie along with several x-division stars to create an all out war within TNA.

Personally I think the best thing TNA could do right now is bring in a bunch of fresh faces. After that they can create a huge feud within the company between Dixie and Hogan/Eric, basically splitting the whole roster in two.

Melina has some personality and a decent arsenal of talented moves… but I wouldn’t wish TNA on her. That’s where wrestlers go to die… it’s kinda like Florida.

Gail Kim got her major push back in late 2003 when she joined the All World Wrestling League/Big Time Wrestling, a take off of the original BTW o the 60’s & 70″s!
