Last night’s WWE Tribute to the Troops one-hour special on NBC drew 2.08 million viewers with a 0.6 demo among adults 18-49, coming in fourth in the hour behind FOX’s America’s Most Wanted, CBS’s Holiday special, The Story of Santa Claus, and tying with the CMA Country Christmas special on ABC among adults 18-49, but getting outrated in total viewers, 3.36-2.08 million.
Among total viewers, Tribute to the Troops was the lowest rated show of the whole night on broadcast television, but was able to slightly outrate its repeat lead-in of Grimm in the demo.
While the special is highly praised by the media, this marks the third straight year that the ratings have dropped in its timeslot. This year’s broadcast was down one-tenth from the 0.7 rating last year and down 11% from the 2.34 million among total viewers. Compared to 2009, the demo was down two-tenths (25%) and 13% from the 2.39 million it drew at this time two years ago.
